Privacy Policy
TL;DR: Prunebird is built on a strict zero-data-collection philosophy. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your personal data, files, code, or telemetry. Everything operates 100% locally on your Mac.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Prunebird operates without any telemetry SDKs or analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Facebook SDK, no Sentry, no Firebase). Specifically:
- We do not collect your personal details, email addresses, or account credentials.
- We do not read, upload, or analyze the source code inside your repositories.
- We do not track what applications, processes, or ports you are running.
- We do not transmit diagnostic or crash reports to remote servers without explicit user interaction.
2. How On-Device Features Work
Prunebird performs workspace scans and localhost monitoring entirely on your Mac using native macOS APIs:
- Disk Cleaning & Worktree Scanning: Prunebird scans directory sizes and Git worktree metadata locally in pure Swift. When you delete files, they are safely moved to the macOS Trash (
NSWorkspace.shared.recycle) so you can restore them anytime. - Localhost Radar & Latency Probes: When testing HTTP response times on active ports, HTTP requests are dispatched exclusively to
http://127.0.0.1orhttp://localhost. No data is sent over the Internet. - App Technology & Security Audits: Scans of bundle architectures (Apple Silicon / Intel / Universal / Electron) and code signatures are performed by inspecting local Mach-O headers and plist metadata on your own machine.
3. App Sandbox & Security-Scoped Bookmarks
The Mac App Store edition of Prunebird runs inside Apple's strict App Sandbox. It cannot access any files on your hard drive outside its container without your explicit permission.
When you select a developer folder (such as ~/Projects), macOS grants access via a Security-Scoped Bookmark. Prunebird persists this bookmark in local UserDefaults solely so you do not need to re-select your folder on every app launch.
4. In-App Purchases (StoreKit 2)
If you purchase Prunebird Pro via the Mac App Store, your transaction is processed entirely by Apple Inc. via Apple StoreKit 2. We never have access to your credit card, billing address, or payment credentials. Apple provides us only with an anonymized transaction receipt to unlock Pro features locally.
5. Website Privacy (prunebird.com)
Our website is hosted on high-performance infrastructure in the EU (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany). Web server logs (standard Nginx access logs containing IP address, user-agent, and requested path) are temporarily stored for security and rate-limiting purposes and are deleted routinely. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts on this website.
